Your Rights as a Client
HCA Registered Health Coaches™ (RHC™) and HCA Registered Health & Nutrition Counselors™ (RHNC™) have an obligation to the public and their clients to act in a way that demonstrates integrity, professionalism, safety and competence. All members must comply with the governing legislation in their area in addition to agreeing to abide by the HCA Code of Ethics and Scope of Practice.

- the right to a safe and secure environment.
- the right to fair and unbiased treatment regardless of race, sexual orientation, age, religion or political views.
- the right to a professional relationship free of violence, abuse, demeaning, intimidating or aggressive behaviour.
- the right to be free of mental, physical, sexual and financial abuse.
- the right to privacy and confidentiality of identification, records and discussions
- the right to ask questions.
- the right to be heard.
- the right to be involved and make informed decisions about their health care and personal health information.
- the right to accept or decline any given recommendation or plan.
- the right to transparency regarding fees and the services a client will receive, including any risks and anticipated benefits.
- the right to request alternative services, within reason, without fear of reprisals, coercion or interference.

- the right to seek a second opinion or additional professional help.
