When I was much younger, I focused so much upon outer image, weight and counting calories. I now have a daughter and do not want her growing up with this type of mentality towards health. Becoming a Mother has really influenced me to push myself to achieve my own personal goals. Being a Nutritionist has always been a goal of mine and the fact that I have been able to achieve my biggest desire is huge for me. Last, I&rsquo;ve been surrounded by many loved ones who suffered from chronic illness and disease in the passed few years. &nbsp;That was when I made my jump towards this career. If I can help someone in anyway possible, my mission in life is complete.&nbsp;<br /><br /><strong>What words of wisdom would you like to share about leading a healthy lifestyle?</strong><br />To always find peace within. I believe that when we truly find peace within our soul, we are living a full life. Happiness is truly the secret to living a long healthy life and although, yes, what we eat greatly impacts our health, so does the relationship we have with ourselves. He was also awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his dedication to coaching.</font><br />&#8203;</div>  <div>  <!--BLOG_SUMMARY_END--></div>  <div class="paragraph"><strong style="color:rgb(123, 140, 137)"><font color="#508d24" size="5">What inspired you to become a Registered Health Coach?</font></strong><br /><font color="#2a2a2a">Like a good portion of the general population, I worked long hours at a desk job and I was over-weight with poor eating habits. &nbsp;I suffered from knee and back pain, sleep apnea and persistent low energy. &nbsp;I was not properly managing my stress levels and this combination of things really hindered me from spending quality time with my loved ones and prevented me from achieving my full potential as a business man. &nbsp;I was my own worst enemy. &nbsp;Realizing I had to make a change, I&nbsp;began "dieting", which of course&nbsp;didn't work. &nbsp;The let down of failure brought me to my lowest point emotionally and physically. &nbsp;It was there that I realized I had to find the strength and motivation from within to become the best I can be. &nbsp;</font><br /><br /><font color="#2a2a2a">I began compiling all of the knowledge I had obtained on nutrition, stress management, business and consulted with the best in pro sports. &nbsp;I then completed a health coaching course all the while transforming myself. &nbsp;Forty pounds later, my energy was up and my pain and sleeping problems disappeared. &nbsp;</font><br /><br /><font color="#2a2a2a">Having gone through it myself, I now feel so passionate about&nbsp;empowering others to be the best that they can be.&nbsp; It is truly an amazing to have this impact on someone's life. Enabling my clients to achieve a new found energy and overall happiness is the greatest. I have helped people lose weight, gain confidence, achieve better sleep, less stress and even help them with their personal relationships and careers. I am reprogramming the way my clients see themselves and others around them by making their own health the priority. I always say to clients, "I look forward to introducing you to the new you". They discover amazing things about themselves which they never knew. These new discoveries are strengths which propel them to their highest potential.</font><br /><br /><strong style="color:rgb(123, 140, 137)"><font color="#508d24" size="5">&#8203;What is one of your&nbsp;favourite healthy meals?</font></strong><br /><font color="#2a2a2a">My favorite meal is any healthy fish and brussel sprouts off the BBQ.&nbsp; Crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. &nbsp;Tastes great and easy to make!!</font><br /><br /><font color="#2a2a2a">I like to use trout. &nbsp;I'll add avocado oil (sparingly) on both sides of the fish and then sprinkle "Chef Paul's Magic Salmon Seasoning" on it. &nbsp;BBQ or broil for 3-4 minutes each side until the skin is nice and crispy.</font><br /><br /><font color="#2a2a2a">For the brussel spouts, I toss in avocado oil, balsamic vinegar and garlic and bake on a cookie sheet at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes. &nbsp;</font><br /><br /><font color="#2a2a2a">&#8203;</font><strong style="color:rgb(123, 140, 137)"><font color="#508d24" size="5">Do you have any words of&nbsp;wisdom you would like to share with everyone?</font></strong><br /><br /><font color="#2a2a2a">"In the world, there are enough obstacles in your way.</font><br /><font color="#2a2a2a">Don&rsquo;t be one of them!</font><br /><font color="#2a2a2a">Get out of your own way in pursuit of the best version of yourself!</font><br /><font color="#2a2a2a">Start off by believing in you! I worked hard at the only career I knew, only to have it ripped from my soul. Then one day, I was fired. Restaurant management was the only thing I knew, the only thing I had worked towards.&nbsp;</span><br /><br /><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0)">I was angry, lost, confused, annoyed and bitter.&nbsp;</span><br /><br /><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0)">I had no idea where to turn until, my friends suggested fitness, as it was never a chore to get up and work out. I dove into that industry hard and, within one more I was teaching at a local spin studio and within 3 months I was fully engaged and dedicated to helping others with fitness.&nbsp;</span><br /><br /><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0)">I knew there was more to fitness as results were always seen but NEVER fully there. I knew nutrition was needed for the full effect. What goes into your body was just as important as what you did to maintain the outside of your body.&nbsp;</span><br /><br /><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0)">I decided to sign up for a fitness competition for &ldquo;true&rdquo; results, which would include nutrition. Little did I know that all it caused was more havoc on my body, and especially as a female, it taught me was how to diet hardcore. With results seen, I was more overworked, tired, exhausted and burnt out than working for the corporate world in previous jobs. &nbsp;</span><br /><br /><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0)">I walked off stage after 4 months of extremely hard work, where I avoided friends, lost friends, avoided family and gave up on social events just to have 3 minutes of glory on stage. Dieting wasn&rsquo;t the answer to seeing results, as it was never maintainable. I knew that it was unhealthy what I was doing a week before walking on stage, but I didn&rsquo;t give up.&nbsp;</span><br /><br /><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0)">After competing, phone calls, emails, and text came through from friends and other people asking &ldquo;what did you do to look like that&rdquo;. I would laugh and say &ldquo;you don&rsquo;t want to know&rdquo;. I still met up with these people to tell them my short 4 month journey and they always asked if I would help them.&nbsp;</span><br /><br /><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0)">A life coach/business coach, told me I had a niche for helping people. I hired him instantly to help me keep balance in my life while, I signed up with Nutraphoria Holistic School of Nutrition. I was now on the right path to fully being able to help people with their overall fitness and health. I spent every single dollar I had in order to help others see how dangerous and uneducated dieting can be.&nbsp;</span><br /><br /><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0)">I wish I could say it was hard, but the more I engaged with nutrition, the more it made sense. I dedicated 18 hours + a day to schooling some days to push through the schooling. The women who worked with me, saw better results with understanding that all you needed was whole foods, fitness and an 80/20 mentality on food.&nbsp;</span><br /><br /><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0)">Dieting is easy, anyone can do it to be honest. Give someone 10 days or 14 days to restrict themselves of what they think is &ldquo;bad&rdquo; and of course they will lose weight. Teaching someone that it takes a complete lifestyle change to see true results from the inside out, is a way harder task.</span><br /><br /><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0)">When I registered with Integrative nutrition, I wanted to be different. I wanted to differentiate myself from the ones who sold programs online without the education or knowledge of schooling behind them. Not once has someone asked to see my certificates, my seal of approval from integrative, but to me, I know that I am authentic in what I do.
